County fetes past CPAC
members

30 years of service celebrated
by Jay O'Brien
Sacramento County's Municipal Services Agency (MSA) hosted a
reunion dinner September 13th for all past members of the Rio
Linda/Elverta Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC). The
reunion was held at the Community Center; CPAC member Jeff Bair catered
the dinner.
Celebrated were thirty years of service to the community by CPAC
members, each appointed by the County Supervisor in office at the time.
MSA's Principal Planner Leighann Moffitt made everyone feel welcome;
she was assisted by County staff members Carol Gregory and Michelle
Preslar.
First District County Supervisor Roger Dickinson, however, did not
attend or send his thanks to those who attended the reunion.
CPAC is being replaced by the new Community Council; Dickinson,
however, has appointed only two of the present ten CPAC members to
serve on the new five-member Community Council.
Eleven CPAC members, who served during the 30 year history of our CPAC,
attended the reunion. The attendees, listed by the first year of their
service as CPAC members, were Thelma Cormier (1977); Jay O'Brien
(1978); Wilma Dyer (1979); Pollie Parker and Charlea Moore (1991); Bill
Pettis (1993); Karyn Lehman (1994); Debbie Byrne and Hal Morris (1997);
Jeff Bair (2002); and Zack Arbios (2003).
The Rio Linda/Elverta CPAC has an enviable history of strongly and
appropriately representing this community. Hopefully the County will
allow the new Council to follow CPAC's 30 year tradition.
