Wednesday, May 25th was a mixed emotion day as friends, co-workers, and
well-wishers bid adieu to Kathy Long. First there was sadness that
Kathy Long, the Administrator of the Rio Linda/Elverta Recreation and
Park District would be leaving the District.
Then there was the
joy knowing that she would be going to another
position up in the mountains where she would be able to enjoy some of
her favorite hobbies and pastimes such as skiing, hiking, and camping.
Susan Culver, Aide to Sacramento County Supervisor Roger
Dickinson, read a Proclamation denoting many of the activities and
accomplishments that Kathy had perfor-med and was active in. Among some
of the tributes to her included her community involvement outside of
her work duties such as being an officer in the Lions Club, and also an
officer in the Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society.
Kathy was also instrumental in the fruition of the Depot/Visitors
Center.
Her community involvement will certainly be missed as will she be
missed.
