CPAC rejects Elverta Specific Plan
Rio Linda Elverta News September 18, 2003
by Jay O'Brien

The Rio Linda/Elverta Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC) met September 9th. After recommending approval of infill development, including five lot splits, a  ten-lot subdivision and a residential accessory dwelling, it deliberated on the Elverta Specific Plan.

The CPAC first voted unanimously to reject the Elverta Specific Plan (ESP) as prepared by the County.

CPAC then unanimously adopted recommendations and conditions to be recommended to the County "If the Board of Supervisors, despite the strong opposition voiced by the community, approves the Elverta Specific Plan".

The CPAC recommendations and conditions for the ESP were substantially the same as those reported in The NEWS on September 11. The text of the recommendations are on line, as part of the September 9 CPAC minutes, on the County Planning web site at http://www.co.sacramento.ca.us/planning/meetings/riolinda.html.

CPAC members present and participating were Chairman Hal Morris, Secretary Jim Rogaski, Jeff Bair, Nancy Bosley, Dudley Dufort and Don Logan. Sacramento County Principal Planner Leighann Moffitt represented Sacramento County. As many as 35 others were in attendance.

Elverta Specific Plan
CPAC vote clarification

by Jay O'Brien

Last week I reported that the Rio Linda/Elverta Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC) at its September 9th meeting unanimously rejected the Elverta Specific Plan (ESP) as prepared by the county. That is a fact, as reflected in the minutes posted on the County web site at http://www.co.sacramento.ca.us/planning/meetings/riolinda.html.

The ESP was considered by CPAC after seven other items. I reported the names of the CPAC members present and participating, and I included Jeff Bair, who is a landowner in the ESP area. Bair excused himself from the meeting during the discussion and vote on the ESP. The votes taken on the ESP were unanimous; Mr. Bair, however, was not present.
